Knives
Japanese Kitchen Knives
All styles of factory or hand-made kitchen knives (including single sided and R/L hand biased edge geometries), stainless and carbon steels expertly sharpened by hand on Japanese watertstones at no higher than 12 degrees. Finished to at least 8000grit then stropped on leather with poly diamond emulsion to create a highly refined and polished edge which will shave keenly whilst still having the “bite” to easily deal with things like tomato skins. Benefits of expert hand sharpening include avoiding excess material loss to preserve the longevity of your knives, maintaining the cosmetic beauty, maximum edge retention for your blade and the razor sharp finish will cut effortlessly and help quality ingredients to maintain their best possible flavours (according to Japanese culinary philosophy) by causing less damage to cells of the ingredients as it cuts. Western style knives from £4-£15 per knife depending on size or aprox £1-£1.25 per inch.
Reprofiling of heavily worn blades, and repair of damage such as chips and broken tips from £6-£24 or £1.50-£2 per inch depending on work required.
Sharpening of Traitional style and single bevel Japanese knives from £1.50 per inch. Thinning and repair of worn or damaged blades from £2-£3 per inch.
European Kitchen Knives
Most high quality home kitchen knives and entry/mid range professional kitchen knives fall into this category. Cutlery from manufacturers such as Wustoff, Sabatier, Victorinox and Zwilling. Hand sharpened at 14-16 degrees (depending on manufacturer) on Japanese waterstones, finished to 5000 grit and stropped for a very keen, high performance edge that will be far superior to the average edge applied to new knitchen knives in the facory! £3-£9 per blade depending on size or aprox 75p per inch.
Reprofiling and repair work of more heavily worn and damaged blades from £4-£12 per blade or aprox £1-£1.25 per inch.
Basic/Generic Domestic Kitchen Knives
Efficient sharpening of basic kitchen knives, belt grinding to 1000 grit and finished with a stroke down a diamond honing rod. The resulting edge will be slightly convexed with a toothy apex, giving good edge retention and drastically sharper than brand new. No matter the condition of the knife, any damage will be repaired at no extra charge. £1 - £5 per knife depending on size or aprox 50p per inch.
Bushcraft Knives
Bushcraft knives with edge geometry of any type including Scandi grinds and convexed edges. sharpened by hand using either precision sharpening system or whetstones as appropraite, finished with your choice of grit and polish level. From 75p-£1.25 per inch or £5-£15 per knife depending on size and work required
Pocket Knives/EDC
All styles and brands of folding and fixed blade knives made with simple steels, sharpened by hand with a guided precision sharpening system utilising diamond abrahsives. Blades finished with 600 grit for an aggressive toothy utility cutting edge. £4-£8 per knife depending on size. Any damaged blades repaired with low speed sanding belt before hand sharpening at no extra cost.
Premium pocket knives made with premium or high carbide steels and powder metalurgy steels sharpened with the same precision technique but utilising metallic bonded diamond and ceramic sharpening stones, finished at up to 5000grit and stropped on leather with poly diamond emulsion for a razor sharp and beautifully polished edge with refined bite for ultra high performance! £6-£12 per knife. Reprofiling and repair work of premium knives from £8-£16.

All styles of professional grooming and thinning shear, with semi-convexed and bevel edged blades. Sharpened by hand using japanese ceramic whetstones and a guided preision sharpening system to original factory specifications and refined to 12000grit, providing fantastic cutting performance of your shear and allowing the use of slide cutting tecniques. £8-£12 per item depending on size. Repair/restoration of damaged or badly sharpened shears (where possible) quotes available on request.
Clipper blades
Blades for all hair clippers hand sharpened on diamond plates and finished to 1200grit, restoring the great cutting performance! Blades returned oiled, tensioned and ready to use. Standard size, all brands £8 per blade.

Straight Razor Honing
Honing by hand of straight razors on Japanese ceramic whetstones, refined to 30,000grit (0.5 micron) and stropped on nubuck with 150,000 grit (0.1 micron) poly diamond emulsion for a silky smooth shave! £8

Repair/restoration of damaged or badly sharpened shears (where possible) quotes available on request.
Unfortunately I am not currently able to offer sharpening services for curved shears typically used in dog grooming
Clipper blades
Blades for all types/brands of animal clippers hand sharpened on diamond plates and finished to 1200grit, restoring great cutting performance! Blades returned oiled, tentioned and ready to use. Small size £8 per blade set, large size for horses etc £12 per blade set.

Tailoring/Dressmaking and Upholstry Shears
Hand sharpening of all styles and brands of dressmaking, tailors and upholstery shears to original factory specifications. Using a precision guided sharpening system utilising diamond abrasives, finishes of 600, 2000 or 5000grit offered to provide toothy, fine or extra fine finihes and restore the great heavy duty cutting performance you rely on! From £8-£15 per item depending on size and work required.
Domestic Utility Scissors
Common utility scissors sharpened by hand, finished with 600grit diamond sharpening file restoring great cutting performance. £4-£8 per item size depending
Tools
Chisels and Plane Irons
Chisels primary bevels reground at 25 degrees on a low speed sanding belt then honed by hand at 30 degrees to create a micro bevel, finished on 6000grit ceramic stone and stropped on leather with poly diamond emulsion for a highly refined and polished cutting edge, which will be ready for even the most demanding woodworking tasks. From £2-£6 per chisel by size (£20 for a typical 5 chisel set). Plane irons sharpened using the same technique detailed above. £5-£8 per iron.
Garden shears
Regular garden shears and edging shears serviced and sharpened using a low speed sanding belt. blades will be tested and adjusted to ensure they are providing you with great cutting performance. £5 per set
Lawnmower Blades
Rotary mower blades sharpened on a low speed sanding belt, damage and chips removed to restore a clean cutting edge. Keep your lawn trim and looking heathy with a sharp mower blade that will not fray the tops of the grass as it cuts. £5 per blade (please remove the blade from mower before bringing for sharpening, thankyou!)
Secateurs
All brands of garden secateurs serviced and hand sharpened using a precision guided sharpening system utilising diamond abrasives. sharpened to original factory specifications, restoring great cutting performance. £5-£8 per item depending on brand of secateur.
Axes
Axes ground at 30 degrees on low speed sanding belt and finished by hand, resulting in a very sharp but durable cutting edge.
